Recognizing that the economic wellbeing of individuals plays an essential role in determining overall wellbeing of a community, Helaina's research goals were to learn about access to credit in Balan as well as the roles that both formal and informal microfinance, microlending, and community lending pools play in supporting the community of Balan.
