Director of the Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He has recently interviewed all Presidential candidates on behalf of National Public Broadcasting Service. A former diplomatic correspondent for CBS News and network Bureau Chief in Moscow, Mr. Kalb also served in the State Department at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
U.S. Foreign Policy: Problems and Opportunities Ahead

Undersecretary of State from 1961 to 1966, during the Kennedy and Johnson presidencies, his diplomatic career included such diverse positions as the Permanent Representative to the UN in 1966, the Associate General Counsel to the Land-Lease Administration and the Director of the US Strategic Bombing Survey in London during 1944-45. The chairman and senior partner of Lahman Brothers, Mr. Ball is also the author of many books including Diplomacy for a Crowded World and the Discipline of Power. He is currently concluding a work on the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Challenges to National Security
Lt. General Brent Scowcroft (USAF ret.)
Following a distinguished career as a military officer, Lt. General Scowcroft was the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, 1975-77. In 1985, he was the chair of the "Scowcroft Commission" for President Reagan that examined the role of the MX missile and national security policies for the 1980s. He was recently chair of the "Tower Commission," the President's Special Review Board on the Iran-Contra Affair and on Organizing for National Security. A former chair of the political science department at the US Air Force Academy, he is currently vice chairman of Kissinger Associates.
