In Badia, recently ranked by the World Bank as the most blighted community in Lagos, in addition to poor housing standards and inadequate access to sanitation and clean water, residents are also frequently subject to government-induced violence. Since 1990, over 700,000 people have been forcibly evicted from their homes in Lagos.
