Erbil, a city in Kurdistan, Iraq, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the world. Once a center of communication and trade, the city has been subjected to terrorism and harsh conditions of the Hussein regime over the last few decades. However, under the leadership of Mr. Mawlood, the city is having a resurgence with millions of public and private dollars being pumped into infrastructure, education, the political system, and the judicial system. With a focus on peace, partnership, commerce, economy, and development, Erbil is fast becoming the center of a βNew Silk Road.β
